The Seasons Series

The Seasons Series, is my first serious attempt to draw in permanent pigment ink on Bristol Board. At that time, I was only painting in oils. I decided to join Illustration Friday and since I cannot paint fast enough to submit an oil painting every week, I decided to start drawing. My first entry is shown on the bottom for the theme, "Stitch" . These drawings measure 12"x9". I drew these images with Fiesta dishes in mind. Can you see them?

The Seasons

I leave thee just
As seasons
Come and go
As Earth pleases
Existence.

Hot, humid, dry, arid
The ground breaks
Tempers released
Drought brings

Petrichor!

Breezy, chilly, dark, grey
Ablaze in colors

Fiery beauty
Silent death.

Frigid, cold, icy
So bleak yet white and pure
Sunny, bright, mellow
Slow.

Washes away grim
An acorn pushes itself from the ground
A little oak tree

Free.
Buying time.

Stitch (Un)

She ambles her way home
No one is waiting, so why hurry
Her thoughts travel like the runners on the ground
Going in all directions like running stitches
Keeping the soil together.
That’s exactly what she thought
And for a moment
She knew it was a ridiculous notion
Even corny.
Sometimes she wonders why she makes up these dramas
That make life complicated
When everything is really simple.
Now she focuses her attention
To the chill of the autumn breeze
She passes by a bush with its last remaining leaves
Clinging in futility
She is absent-minded and does not know
That her leisurely evening walk will unravel
When it becomes un-stitched.

I LOVE THESE!!! Big Love. This is when I fell for you ♥♥♥ You have so much talent, Ces. I must go to Michaels and get two more frames for the Adoration of Ces Room. I will take pictures soon, but I still have a small pile of things in the middle of the floor after cleaning out the closet and sewing cabinet...one project makes three more.

I love this poem. A bit haunting. I must go read it again, for I have the attention span of a gnat.

How are you today??? Have I told you lately that I adore you?

Ces...the link--MY bad! But however it is...it IS! You took care of it so graciously!

Thank you for your really supportive comment(s).

On this posting I agree totally with Katherine Thomas, (first comment) so you do not have to read it twice. I am again in AWE at your talent, so free given, distributed, shared with us ALL. Is it any wonder we all love you (even if you DO live in *****).

My best ever is for you in words, thoughts, and prayers.
